I have 9,500 days to live. What about you?

It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth – and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.

-Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as of 2013, the average life expectancy for men is about 76.4 years and 81 years for women. This means that if you are 50 years old, you have roughly between 9,500 to 11,000  days to live.  If you are 40, you have between 13,000  and 15,000 days to live. I’m not going even talk about if you’re well over fifty. Just do the math.  🙂

On top of this, there is absolutely no guarantee that we will make it to that average. As they say in my hometown, tomorrow is promised to no one.

Truly “Living Da Life” is about having no regrets and not feeling cheated if the clock expires prematurely.

If this is the case, shouldn’t we be living every day like it’s our last?

If this was you last day, what would you do different?

Who would you call? Who would make sure you saw?

What grudge would you mend?

Who would you tell you love them?

Got it? Good. Get to it.

As for me, by tomorrow I have 9,499. Live da life.
